Flail chest - A flail chest occurs when a segment of the thoracic wall breaks and becomes dettached from the rest of the chest wall. This typically occurs when a three or more ribs are fractured in two or more places, allowing that segment of the thoracic wall to displace and move independently of the rest of the chest wall.

Chest tube - A chest tube or chest drain is a flexible plastic tube that is inserted through the side of the chest into the pleural space. It is used to remove air (pneumothorax) or fluid (pleural effusion, blood, chyle), or pus (empyema) from the intrathoracic space.

Tea chest bass - A tea chest bass is a home-made musical instrument that uses a wooden chest of the type once used to deliver tea as the resonator for an upright stringed bass. The instrument is made from a pole, traditionally a broomstick, placed into or alongside the chest.
